The Next City team is busy organizing our Solutions of the Year Festival — mark your calendars! We’ll be hosting a series of webinars November 12-15, 2024. They’ll explore some of the more pressing issues and the most promising solutions that we’ve covered this year — like erasing medical debt, strategies for addressing the housing crisis and participating in democracy beyond voting.
But it feels like something is missing. A film screening. Earlier this year, we put on our first-ever virtual film festival that focused on documentaries about various aspects of the climate crisis. It featured the films: How To Power A City, Farming While Black, and Inundation District.
The festival was a blast, so we want to include more film screenings in our event offerings. That’s where you, dear reader, come in. Do you know about a documentary that tells a story about a pressing social issue — maybe it’s another climate film? Or maybe you are the filmmaker who directed a documentary about a community that is working together to build wealth, develop of mutual aid network or address the housing crisis?
